I've walked paths I didn't know existed, weathered storms that shifted the scenery from recognizable to foreign, and stood on cliffs in my heart that made me feel exactly the same way that standing on a pinnacle of Table Mt. felt in reality all those years ago. At times I wonder if the taste of peace I'm experiencing right now is just the eye of the hurricane. And in those moments of spring twilight when I am alone, drinking in the heady smell of damp earth, I think...maybe...that survival has come at the cost of forgetting my way back home.
