Raini's Little Boy

Such a handsome little thing! So snuggly too! July 27, 2007.

He's Here!

On Thursday July 26, I was woke up by the phone ringing just before 4 am. I was so excited I jumped right out of bed. Laney and I took off in the car and started driving to Indiana! We didn't make it in time to see the birth, but by the time we got there he was all wrapped up and asleep in his daddy's arms and Raini was sitting up and looking just wonderful! She got to the birthing center already at 10 after laboring at home all night. Four hours of pushing later she delivered a beautiful, healthy, 9 lb 11 oz baby boy! He was 22 inches long and has a head of dark brown hair. I was so blessed to be able to be there and hold him so soon after his arrival!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Elayna in her bouncy seat

Here's Elayna outside in the shade of the tree, playing in her bouncy seat. See her long legs?! She has that right one moving up and down getting the chair to bounce! July 23, 2007.

My Three Kids

Just some pictures of the kids on July 23, 2007.

Mud Truck Adventure

Colby promised to take Josh out in the mud truck if he'd be nice and share his gator with the kids that came over on Sabbath afternoon, so bright and early Sunday morning Josh ran down the stairs to remind Daddy it was time to go out in the mud truck! Colby and his cousins and a friend took the mud truck and went up to the mud pit. They didn't take a lot of pictures, mostly some video, but they had fun and Joshua got to drive the Explorer back out of the woods and the last two pictures are of where he parked it when he got home!

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch...

Baby Blue Eyes munched on some Cheetos and we watched the bumblebee finding pollen on the flowers. July 22, 2007.

Sabbath Fun!

Sabbath, July 21 was a big day for us. We invited some of our new friends from church over with their families for a campfire and haystacks, and to stay for the neighbor's fireworks display that evening. We had a great time, there were 10 little kids here, all running around and playing in the yard under the trees and in the gator! We fed the horses our corn husks and took turns on the trampoline. The fireworks were great and I think everyone had a good time! July 21, 2007.

Our yard, Farm kids

Our walnut tree is loaded with heavy walnuts this year, and some of our branches are almost to the ground with their weight. Josh has been picking them up and putting them in a bucket by the door. And then he takes them out and throws them back out in the yard and then he goes and picks them up again...ah, the simple life! July 20, 2007.

Visit From A Little Birdie

A few days before these pictures were taken a little bird hit our big window and fell to the ground. When he didn't get right up, I went outside, picked him up, and Josh and I sat on the front steps and he sat on my finger while we talked about the beautiful little bird God had made and what a blessing it was that we could touch him. When he regained his bearings he flew a little ways away and landed on the tree. Two days later Josh was playing outside and kept telling me I had to come outside and pick up the birdie. I finally went out and discovered our little friend was back! There he was sitting on the old rock entry and as I approached him he sat looking at me without fear and let me pick him up again! We sat on the steps again looking at the bird and talking about God's creation for several minutes, got some pictures, and began to wonder when he was going to rejoin his friends. Finally we started to hear some chirping in the big walnut tree and then suddenly he let out a wonderful chirp right from his perch on my hand! It was amazing! I don't know why he didn't fly up into the tree, but after a few minutes of furious chirping, I took him over to the tree and placed him on a branch, and from there he hopped up the branches and back to his family. We listened to them talking to each other for quite a while before things quieted back down. It was really an amazing experience! July 20, 2007.

What happens when there's no bananas

Yes, she is still my little banana muncher. I'm thinking of investing in Chiquita stock. A granola bar had to suffice on this day, but it was a poor substitute! Poor little chicky! July 20, 2007.

July 14, 2007

Just some pictures of us on the 14th of July, 2007! Elayna in her little froggie outfit, even her pacifier matches! And the sunset was bright and golden that evening with the sun lighting up the south hill and the barn. Josh was up late that night, and I got a picture of him with his eyes open! Of course, he's not actually smiling....

Family Get-together

On July 7 we got together at Colby's grandparents' house to say goodbye to his cousin Joya and her husband and little Auron. They just moved to Indiana and are living really close to Raini now. Auron is 4 days older than Elayna. He was so tuckered out he fell asleep in the chair! He looks so serious even in his sleep! July 7, 2007.
